Fashion/Texture Assignment

This is a lovely sweater I found @ one of the One of a Kind shows a couple years ago. It kindof smells like rancid paint and tires, I still haven't hand-washed it. But I thought it was perfect for this assignment.

150th post: HiTechPro Wireframe

OK so this is ... I suppose the midterm... for web design. Bill-Donut's website needed a revamp, so how does this look? The blank grey space under the header will hopefully be a slideshow of images, nothing flashy, or maybe each page will have a different image, like the old site. I didn't put effects on the text in the header or nav bar yet - I'll probably make gif's for the nav anyway.

The "services" button will have a drop down menu of all the solutions and product links that were taking up the menu last time. I see now that the company icons are a bit more spread out on the right side, I'll fix that later.

This is the wireframe I made after the blue original one. I think I like this better. Less bubbly, more concentrated.

Web Design Assignment

An assignment we had for Web Design was to create a wireframe. I went ahead and filled mine all in, the result of a 7 hour shift on a thanksgiving saturday. ;) I could change a couple things with it, but I'll just keep it simple.

Avedon

This is the Avedon-style portrait I shot last night. Long night, in the studio til 9:30. Paul wanted the portrait to convey strength and power, so I'm thinking that football players kiiiinda convey that, naturally. My brother James is thrilled to be on his high school team, it's one of the few shots I got in which he was actually serious. He's a goof. :p

There was another one I liked a bit more than this one with the helmet... But this one has a nice energy in it and his eyes have a glow and play quite the part. I accented the scar on his elbow, burnt and dodged around the edges and muscles, and retouched his shoulder like crazy because there was tiny white crap falling from his helmet and it looked like terrible dandruff. I left most of the helmet as is, it adds some grunginess to it. Took about three hours, but I think it looks cool.

Can you find my sign?

Cool story, bro!

Oh October...

I'm going to post my assignments this year. It'll keep me busy, and updating!

The first is a close crop assignment. It's a little soft and I should make the text darker, but it turned out okay. The highlight on the right, I think, is stellar. Thankssss Paul, for that.

This is my fave person in the world. It's supposed to be a business portrait, which is fitting, since Thomas is a business student.

These are supposed to be editorial-style pastry shots, with a good feel for d.o.f... except I can't decide which to submit. Probs the first one, most people (including Tom, haha) liked it better.

More coming soon. Also check out my flickr... I think only special favorites will go into flickr, and everything else will be posted here. It's been a while since I've posted anything anyways, so this should be filler for enough time.

Last but not least.....

As I've been writing more music lately, bought another guitar and took up violin, and have been trying to get some decent recordings done, I've made a new myspace and what was Raising Kangaroos is now a self titled thing that I'll post soon. I've also been playing at Marcello's in Streetsville on Wednesday nights (Jam Night)... It was scary as fuck but it felt so good. Adrenaline, baby.

SO. Here is the layout for the disc I'm thinking of making once a friend helps me record the songs. Once they're decent. Maybe I'll rent out a recorder from the cage and do it myself. We'll see, but for now...

Here it is:
